In Chai Vodka, Vodka gets marinated with some aromatic chai spice and savored with lemonade. Is there any better way to enjoy a sunny Friday?
My husband asked me on Sunday night “How long do you want to do blogging?”
I said “Umm, not sure”
He asked again “What is the goal of your blogging? I mean where do you want take your blog to.”
He made me wonder, really what my blogging goal is. Frankly, I don’t have an answer! It’s a way to portray the recipes I learn and master every week, the photographs I take, but how long I will be doing this – I don’t know.
However, I have been taking January a bit slow in terms of blogging recipes.
A lot is going on in personal and professional life. I felt pressurized, crunched on time, cranky and agitated. Everyday there was something and I just prayed “Oh Lord! Please don’t test my patience anymore” but it never got better. So I started to wonder what’s the real problem is.
The real problem was I.
I was trying to do too much. So I started writing down, the list of things I need to do and how much time I am devoting and should devote. It came out that I have much more time than I realize but I was not organized. So I have started using a stopwatch for all tasks.

When I am writing a blog post I am setting aside 30 minutes and trying to finish a draft within that. When I am working on photo editing, I am trying to devote only 45 minutes and not checking Facebook or something in middle. In this way, I found myself a lot sane.
However when it comes to photographing and styling food, I loose track of my time. I enjoy it so much I spend 5 to 6 hours without feeling exhausted.
Without jabbering more, let me speak about today’s recipe – Chai Vodka. There is no other way to enjoy Friday and forget a painful week without having a cocktail in hand. I made this recipe first time for Thanksgiving. It was quite a success. So I decided to make another batch as my husband enjoys is very much.
He tries with lemonade – so I recommend doing the same. However I don’t drink alcohol so I just enjoy the lemonade.
Anyhow, my Friday looks like this – how about you all?
Recipe for Chai Vodka
It’s adapted from Good Housekeeping, Nov 2015 issue.

2 tablespoon dried ginger, chopped
10 black peppercorns
10 whole cloves
10 cardamom pods
750 ml Vodka
Add cinnamon sticks, dried ginger, black peppercorns, whole cloves, cardamom pods and vodka in a tall glass jar. Let it rest for 3 days. Strain it and enjoy with fresh lemonade.
